How to take care of your alocasia?

Alokazia Polly care rules:

1. Light light. Your Alocasia Polly will thrive in an environment with bright, indirect, filtered light. Never let this plant stand in direct sunlight - the leaves will burn. It can survive in medium light but should be avoided in dark corners.
2. Watering. Maintain a regular watering schedule and keep your Alocasia Polly's soil moist, but don't over-water. It is not a drought tolerant houseplant, but it is relatively forgiving if you forget to water it from time to time. Prolonged dryness can lead to darkening of the tips or edges of the leaves. Root rot will occur if the soil becomes soggy.
3. Humidity. Alokazia Polly prefers places with high humidity. Spray it regularly or use a pebble tray to increase the humidity. This plant will grow well if you can get frequent warm showers in the shower or use the spray nozzle near the sink if possible. Your bathroom or kitchen is the perfect place for Alocasia Polly, because these areas tend to be more humid.
4. Temperature mode. Alocasia flower loves warmth, preferably between 20 and 25 degrees, so keep the room temperature above 18 degrees. Avoid drafts and sudden temperature changes.
5. Top dressing. In the spring and summer, use a regular houseplant fertilizer with iron added every four weeks. During the winter months when plant growth naturally slows down, no fertilization is required. Apply fertilizer only to wet soil - never dry as this will burn the roots.

Note: Alocasia is moderately toxic to pets and humans. Generally, swallowing causes irritation to the mouth and stomach and possible vomiting.

In winter, Alocasia Polly will go through a dormant period. During the dormant period, keep the plant in a warmer place at home and reduce watering, but do not let it dry out completely. You will see it liven up again in the spring.
